Big Jim Space series : first attempt (1979-1980)
Mattel marketed three Big Jim space action figures earlier than the future big series.
These figures were inspired by Star Trek and Star Wars movies in the Seventies.
- Big Jim Space Leader had a
laser pistol and a futuristic
suit.
- Dr Bushido had a space suit
and a sword glowing in the dark. Professor Obb in Spy series will have
later the same face.
- Captain laser was an android
with laser glance. This figure was inspired by Captain Lazer from Major
Matt Mason series
Big Jim Space series : Big Jim in future (1984-1986)
Whereas other series often re-used older figures, characters of Space series presented completely new faces. Commander Big Jim had a new head more flexible. He was the leader of Global Command and opposed to Condor Force directed by Professor Obb Overlord. Big Jim had three partners, each one acting on a specific ground. Astros was opposed to Vektor in space combat. Dr Alec was opposed to Baron Fangg on jungle ground. Colonel Kirk was opposed to Kobra in the desert.
This new series had a short life and was released in some European countries. It was Big Jim's last adventure...
